Wonderful game. I love the artwork, music and story. The only thing I didn't like was the battle music. I cant wait to see more.. I finished Chapter 1 pretty quickly, though I had a few issues with the controls. I had no problem with the price and think this is probably one of the better Early Access games I have broken my No Early Access Games rule to play. GRIPE: I don't have much to say other than fix the controller response time because it is very stiff and wonky in the menu (sometimes it wouldn't even work as far as pressing down). I found myself alternating between my keyboard and controller at some points which was not fun. Yes, I know you changed to a new engine after the demo, but there are still issues. (Note: wired USB Xbox 360 controller) PRAISE: The story is great and quickly sucked me in from the get go. The whole world was engaging and downright entertaining. I forgot to add that I loved the combat and even if it felt frustrating it felt like a serious struggle at times, it was very fitting for overall mood of this game. I'm sure people will complain about the price at some point in the comments, but those folks need to chill. I hope what I paid goes towards getting the completed game out by the end of 2018 as the team hopes, because I am hooked.. I've been following the development for this game for a while, and I can say the least that so far it has exceeded my expectations. The art is beautiful, story intriguing and tone is on point. I'm excited to see where the story is headed, and I am absolutely itching to play more. Please support these wonderful developers by trying out this game, you won't regret it.. So. This game looked quite good at first glance, but its actually terrible. The sprite work is good, the enemy design is interesting and kinda fresh, very well done. The battle system is neato too, but the real problem is the story. Its written horendously. They repeatedly forget to capitilize the beginnings of sentences and the story makes no sense. Dystopia is a very interesting genre with a lot of interesting different potential facets. This game has none of that. Spoilers ahead to the story, I'll try to keep it limited by to explain the issues with the story I need to, you know, talk about the story. The main character, Rourke, is sent on a mission in Poland and finds out he's really purging a bunch of civilians. He then tells the first person to listen that he can't POSSIBLY live this kind of life, and that he's gonna desert even if it gets him executed. What the man, who does that. Now, going through a panic attack after you found out you murdered a bunch of innocent people is totally reasonable, but who the would tell someone that. Its insane. You'd have to really think about it, mull it over and THEN decide to bail on your country. Not only that but the dialogue people have is weird and stilited, they don't talk like real people they talk like someone is trying to beat me over the head with the tragedy of war or some nonsense. TL;DR most of the game is good, but the story sucks and an RPG with bad story is pretty much wortheless.. STORY : 100/100. ART :200/100 MUSIC :3000/100.. The game has potential, but a lot of bad things kinda drag it down. The story is interesting and well executed so far. Combat is fun, if a little easy. The sprite work is great and the sniping is a little simplistic but enjoyable as an aside to the main combat. With that said, the movement is terrible. Walking is the default movement and it's unbearably slow, running needs you to keep the button pressed down, and it's still ridiculously slow. The side quests seem straightforward, but they give you really poor directions which combined with large maps and insanely slow movement lead to some real frustrating stuff. The equipment system just feels tacked on. The game wants to go for a more narrative style with sparse combat during key events. Maybe it could do without an equipment system. Maybe it will be better once it's out of Early Access, but right now, not reccomended.. I have been waiting for this game since the demo was released! This game is full of potential, the art is amazing and unique, the music is awesome, the story is interesting and the characters are easily lovable! The gameplay is kinda unbalanced (the battles are quite hard and unfair sometimes and walking can be annoyingly slow) but overall i enjoyed ch1 and waiting for the rest of the game! Worth every dollar!. So far the game is pretty solid. I only have two minor complaints: Movement speed. Getting around takes way longer than it needs to. Even Sprinting is hardly faster than walking. There's also no real reason to walk, either, which means you'll be spending a lot of the walking holding shift for a minor boost. Using skills. Kinda mixed on this, but part of me really doesn't like the morale system. I feel like I'm being punished harshly for using skills at all, especially when there's guaranteed crits at 100 morale. I basically spent most of the first chapter taking arm shots and using items. Overall, despite my complaints, the game is pretty fun and I want to know where the story is going.. The story is brilliant and exciting, gameplay is envolving and fun, with good sidequests that provide a look on the effects of war in the life of citizens. Interesting battle mechanics, beautiful pixel art and anime-inspired art.. Decent gameplay, with the linear storyline with a hint of choice. I am still enjoying the game even though I am stuck on some of the quests.

One Year Ago Today : One year ago today, the demo of Long Gone Days was released! So many things have happened since the release, and its been an incredible process. To this date, the demo has been downloaded over 100,000 times , and hundreds of Lets Plays have been uploaded to YouTube. Not only that, but we appeared on some big news sites we never thought we would be on, like IGN , Siliconera , Gamasutra , Kill Screen , etc. Furthermore, we had the opportunity to show the demo in different parts around the world, and visit cool events, like Day of the Devs in San Francisco, and Tokyo Game Show . None of this would have been possible without all the support you guys have given to us.. 25% OFF Weeklong Deal! : Long Gone Days is on sale during this whole week! Get the game until April 22 10am PDT at 25% off! And in unrelated news, you'll finally be able to pet the dog in-game. As always, remember you can join our Discord [discord.gg] , or follow us on Twitter , Tumblr [lgdays.tumblr.com] and Facebook [www.facebook.com] for more frequent updates! Cheers, LGD Team. Mac version available NOW! : We are glad to announce that the Mac version is finally out, and it includes the complete first chapter of the game (v0.1.4)! As this is the first Mac release of Long Gone Days, there was a lot of testing involved, but rest assured that our upcoming Mac releases won't take as long. IMPORTANT: While Long Gone Days has been tested on several operating systems without major issues, we highly discourage to run it on OS X 10.11 El Capitan . We will make another update when we manage to get a stable version working on that specific macOS. On the same note, please let us know if you encounter any bugs during your gameplay, using our Bug Report Thread . Mac Demo now on Steam + Gamasutra Article : Good news for Mac users! The newest version of the prototype-demo (v1.5.1) is finally available for Mac users on Steam. That aside, we are also proud to share this interview we had at Gamasutra: "I'm the kind of person who can't enjoy horror stories because most of them are impossible scenarios. Personally, I think the real horror stories are the ones that are possible, like just how easy it is to start a war." Read the full interview at: "Long Gone Days: RPG explores war's emotional impact on soldiers" Joel Couture, Gamasutra. [www.gamasutra.com] Until next time!. Demo Updated + 40 hours left! : This is an important notice to let you guys know the demo has been updated. There was a bug that made the demo end during this scene: That's actually only half of the demo. The demo should get automatically updated on Steam (it's an 8kb fix), so it works fine now and previous saves are compatible with the new version. We're sorry for the inconvenience.. New Trailer + Full Release Date Announcement : Yesterday our brand new trailer debuted on the Kinda Funny Games Showcase , and we can finally announce that Long Gone Days will come out of Early Access next year, on April ! We can't wait to show you all the things we have been working on these past few months!
