In a Q&A on the Path of Exile forum (via Gamasutra), developer Grinding Gear Games has announced that Chinese publisher Tencent Games has acquired many stake from the development studio. This news doesn't mean that Grinding Gear Games is Buy Exalted Orb currently part of Tencent, along with the studio insists the stake won’t change the direction they operate.
“We desire to reassure the city that this will never affect the development and operations of Path of Exile, and then we have prepared techniques to some questions you could have about this investment,” the post reads.
The post proceeds to confirm which the studio’s founders are nevertheless running the organization and will have only financial reporting obligations to Tencent, but that can have little affect their philosophy and operations. Additionally, Tencent is not going to try to change Path of Exile. Full power over the game still rests with Grinding Gear. Which means the game will never become free-to-play, the Chinese version won’t get priority, nor does it see advance features.
Essentially, nothing about Path of Exile changes for players now the majority stake is assigned to Tencent. In fact, deciding mostly means that Grinding Gear can reveal more content for the experience. Which is Buy POE Items essentially the reason why they picked Tencent within the first place.
